Summer Homework
This album cover is for The Killers’ album called ‘Sam’s Town’. It has used mainly black and white and kept the scheme quite simple. The only writing that has used a coloured font is the name of the album, written below the name of the band. The main image of this album cover is quite strange; it is of an animal and a woman outside a rough looking old tattered building. The style of this image used for the cover represents what kind of band the killers are, as they’re not a typical rock band. The font used for the name of the band is interesting, as it uses black and white dots. Also the way it is set out is original, as ‘the’ is written in very small font in comparison to ‘killers’.
This DVD cover is for Arctic Monkey’s album called ‘Humbug’. The colours and styling used is typical of their kind of music, especially the image of the front cover. Also, the clothes they’re wearing and the location is very retro, keeping in tone with the kind of band the Arctic Monkeys are. The fonts used are also quite retro and original, as they’re not aligned. The house style is kept the same throughout, as the main colours consist of purple and cream. However, the font used on the back of the DVD cover for the song titles is more formal, and in a black aligned font. The barcode is placed at the top of the back of the page; next to a large empty space which if this was to be improved that space should be filled.

Rough Sketches of Music DVD!
Toms Summer Homework
The Arctic Monkeys DVD cover of Glastonbury 2007 proves how simple a cover can be, but still be very effective. With the all black background, the text and images really stand out on it and it creates a neon glow effect. There are no photos of the band included on the cover, only the band name is recognisable.
On the front cover, there are very few features. The band name logo is dominant on the dark background, and is projected in an electric blue. The font is the same font as seen on the cover of “favourite worst nightmare.” This means that when people look at the cover, they will know whose it is, without even reading any text. Underneath the large title, “Glastonbury” is printed, with the date of when it was in smaller text lower down. This lets the buyer know what the DVD is of.
The sleeve of the cover is also very plain, and to the point, its basically a repeat of what is seen on the cover, with the DVD logo on, but without the use of colour that the front has. It follows the hardened serious look of the front cover, which reflects on the band.
The back cover is everything you’d expect to see on the back of a music DVD. The track listings run down the right hand side, in a chronological order, in a white font, which looks serious, but also stands out on the black background. The same font is featured on the back which is featured on the front which keeps the cover looking formal and in order.
Cher Music DVD cover
This cover is very simple, the heading is at the top in big bold writing, and lets you know who the DVD is of. The page is image dominated with the picture of Cher covering the whole page and the rest of the writing going on top of it. Down the side of the page it lets the buyer know where it is, and that it is live in Las Vegas. The image is in the very centre of the page, and doesn’t seem to use the rule of 3rds at all. It seems like the cover was a cheap easy thing to make. The only other thing is the DVD logo in the bottom right hand corner, which allows the buyers to know that it’s a legal DVD.
Stevie Wonder DVD cover
The Stevie Wonder cover is of his live performance is Detroit in 1994. The page is image dominated with the clear picture of Stevie in the middle, which lets the buyer know who it is. His name is also situated on the top of the page, which makes it clear of what it is the customer is buying.
The cover is image dominated with a bright picture of Stevie in the centre, covering almost the whole page. His name is projected in a different colour and font to the rest of the writing on the page, to attract the reader first and let them know who it is instantly. The text “come home” is situated under Stevie Wonder to show that he is coming to somewhere he belongs. Under the picture it reads “Detroit 1984” this is because Stevie Wonder grew up in Detroit, although he wasn’t born there.
The sleeve continues with the sandy colour on the cover and is very plain and simple. It just repeats what is on the cover without the picture. Its straight to the point so the reader knows what it is when they look at it on a shelf. It has the DVD logo on to let the buyer know that it is a legal DVD.
The back cover is what you would expect to see in the back of any music DVD, a simple list of tracks in chronological order. The background carries on with the sandy colour which is seen on the other 2 sides of the cover. There is a running time underneath the track listing, which tells the buyer how long the DVD is on for. All of the legal and production logos are run along the bottom of the back page.
The Killers Magazine Advert
This advert for the DVD has the same design as the CD/DVD cover and also the album Day and Age. This again is a very clever technique at making people recognise who the CD/DVD is by as the style and design is very unusual to that of other bands. It carries on the same style and colour theme of the purple coloured dots situated as the background behind The Royal Albert Hall. On this advert for the album they have changed the image by not showing as much of the yellow/orange plant at the bottom, leaving an extended black space at the bottom. This was done so the writing could be easy to read. The writing is white so the date of when it comes out is very clear and people will notice it first as it is quite bold, then making the date stay in their head so they know when to buy it. The Killers logo is again white so it stands out and is easy to read but is also the biggest size font on the page. This is so it can be seen from far away and people will still be able to read it.
David Ford Magazine Advert
This advert for David Fords new album “A long time ago” shows all you need to know about him. He is a very calm artist who only uses a guitar and his vocals in his music. The advert is in all black and white which takes any sign of pop or music with a high beat ut of the equation.
There is a rating from the Sun newspaper along the bottom which states “Mesmerizing, album of the year.” This is typical of an advert to include something from a critic and its always a positive note. The Sun also rates the album as a five star album, which advertises and persuades the audience to buy it.
The advert is quite plain and simple, which reflects on the artist’s style of music. The largest font on the page is the artists name, it’s big and bold and clear. This is so that the audience instantly knows who the advert is advertising. It is common in an advert to have this layout. Underneath the artists name is the album title, this is stereotypically in a smaller font but still big enough for the audience to read if they only take a glance. It also states at the top when the album is released, so all the information the audience needs is there in very short style.
Oasis Magazine Advert
This advert for Oasis’” be here now” album features a very edgy car parked in a swimming pool. This is typical Oasis to be different and out there. The hotel and car are very classy, but Oasis have contradicted that by parking the car in the pool.
The time in which the album was released was over 10 years ago. So the advert would have had a big effect of the public then. The Oasis sign is bold and the biggest font on the page which is what you’d expect so the audience know instantly who the artist is, and especially seen as they were such a big name. At the bottom the release date is on and also Oasis’ website is advertised, which shows that they were a very big band to have someone make them a website.
Some people would find the advert very big headed and flaunting how much money the band has. This is due to the fact they have filmed in a huge mansion and parked a very expensive car in a swimming pool, some people would find this stupid and irresponsible. However, on the other hand, the advert could be seen as Oasis saying its not about the money for them as they’ve got rid of an expensive car.
Fluorescent Adolescent
In this video by the arctic monkeys, there are clowns fighting with what look like gangsters. This is a very stereotypical Arctic Monkeys video. It matches the song which is gritty and hardened, and the video is exactly the same. It features an old abandoned scrap yard in which the two sets of people have what seems to be a pointless brawl.
The colour used in the brawl is limited on the gangsters; however, the clowns are full of colour showing the contrast between the two sets of groups. The colour is still much dulled, which is typical Arctic Monkeys style. The gangsters are in dark clothes.
There are several close ups used on the main clown, which shows the expression on his face. Even through the face paint you can see that he isn’t happy. In the video the face paint is used to great effect on this character, as the red paint around his mouth represents a sad face, which shows he is unhappy.
The location which the video is shot in is stereotypically an old school fighting ground, with dust and dirt surrounding them. The video is clearly meant to be shot in an early age than today, and you can tell this by the cars that they are driving. This could be to try and match in with the old school gangsters.
The video uses none of Goodwins theory about the lyrics matching with the video, the video has nothing to do with the song. However, the whole video looks like a scene from Scarface which matches the Arctic Monkeys style of music and just style in general perfectly.
Single Ladies Music Video
The video for Single Ladies was shot with a very low budget. After Beyonce had injected all the money into the production of the video for “if I were a boy” there was very little left for anything else. However, this video went on to become on of the most popular videos of the year. It featured 3 women including Beyonce, in a little outfit doing a routine dance. There was nothing else involved in this video. The producers wanted to make something a lot more expensive, but they were forced to downgrade because of the low budget.
The video will have taken a lot of choreographing to produce, but other than that not a lot else. The video has been tried by thousands of public Beyonce fans, and has become one of the most popular videos of all time.
Eminem Lose Yourself
The video for Eminem’s 2002 hit track, “lose yourself” was voted number 1 in the 2003 MTV music video awards. Along with being nominated for another 4 awards in different categories. The song is a soundtrack to Eminems movie 8 mile. The video for “Lose Yourself” contains key footage from the film, which acts as an advertisement and a part trailer for 8 mile.
The video also includes scenes featuring Eminem rapping next to the “8 Mile Road” sign, which appears on the cover of the movie soundtrack. The video also contains scenes of what seems to be a reflection of Eminems real life. The video shows how poorly Eminem was brought up as a child. His mother is violated in the video, and Eminem attempts to show how she was never there for him, and didn’t care how he grew up. It also shows how she had a drug addiction. This also appears in several other of Eminems songs and videos, where he claims that there was never any food or water in the house for him, he had to fight for himself.
The video is a reconstruction of when Eminem first came into the music industry. He was hated and discriminated against for the lyrics he produced. It shows how he started out rapping as a hobby in the suburbs at underground competions, and then he got one opportunity to make it at the big time and he took it.
Overall, the video is a very serious outlook on Eminems childhood. He attempts to send a message to those who may not have believed in him. The video gives off a strong feeling and was very popular, although it will not have cost much to make, and it didn’t need any specific requirements to film.

Rough Cut Feedback!
1. Things that our target audience liked about our rough cut were;
· Good range of ideas and well acted. · Time lapse from day to night
· Band Performance
· Angle on Dec walking
· Idea of the narrative
· Time lapse of the lighthouse
· Locations of band performance · Good editing between the two main males
· Well filmed time lapse
· Variety of locations and shots
·Film of the cars and the traffic
· Piggy back on the beach
2. Things that our target audience felt we need to change and improve in our rough cut for our final video were;
· Changes in edit pace to reflect the music, for example change on the drumbeat. · Faster cuts between Gus and Declan to highlight contrast. · Develop bounces story- start with scene to indicate he is made to feel small and being full circle with his returning home to see wife silhouetted in doorway. · Graphic Matches- Jump Cuts, ETC. · Frame clock in centre.
· Match lyrics to shots sometimes - e.g. repeats "that a different girl than she was tonight". · Declan and Mirror (watch taxi driver "are you looking at me")
· Could you use time lapse stuff to show night passing then, intro down beach bit with Katie and Gus. ·Band Performance change positions- e.g. change on the drum beat. ·Dec needs to change from hen pecked and under thumb to hard lad. · This is a very fast paced beat led song, edit pace needs to be faster to reflect this.
· More editing needs to be use- cuts and camera angles during band performance. · Mise en scene - Dec: Uptight, ultra masculine
Gus: Rock and roll. · Strong narrative- not to clear.
Time lapse- Use twice but not very relative to the story. · Shorter sequences- e.g. Gus getting ready. · Get close ups on band performances- film the whole song 5 to 6 times using different camera angles. · Band performance not great quality or lighting · Hold camera still, and use a variety of shots. ·Change mise en scene for the bedroom, looks more like a teenagers room rather than reflect the bouncer himself it should reflect his age. · Set up the whole drums properly rather than having one drum. · Zoom in on the band performance.
· Too dark a lot of the time,
· Too many time lapses. · Some shaky footage. · Do not swap the band members half way through the band performances.
· Band performance goes on to long, no variety, in one place. · Re-film the beach section.
Before handing in our rough cut feedback we knew as a group that there were a lot of things that we needed to re do and improve on for out final video. The first thing we knew that we needed to spend more time was out narrative of our story as it was bit complicated and confusing in parts. We also knew that we need to re film all of out band footage in order to make it look more realistic like a real music video by using different cuts and camera angles.
From our target audience feedback we found out that our narrative needed to be much stronger in order for our audience to understand it. We were also told that some of our shots looked shaky and to dark which they felt that we needed to film again.
Overall we have decided to re film all of our band footage again in order to make it look more professional, by adding in more emphasis in to it such as the singing and playing the drums. We have also decided to go back and add in more sections to our narrative of the story in order to make sure that it makes sense.

Narrative Theory Work!
We also use Andrew Goodwins theory of matching the video with the lyrics and also the pace and mood of the music. The song tells the story of a night out and a bouncer, who seems angry, then turns the person away from the club. Our video shows the story of two lives, the bouncer, and the lad going on a night out. We use very fast cuts in our video, to match the pace of the song. We use a lot of close ups on the band members, mainly the lead singer to emphasise his position. We use an equal amount of band performance and narrative in our video to match Goodwins theory.

Gus's summer homework!

This video directed by Sam Brown, sends off a strong political message. It shows the Foo Fighters performing the song in an ice hockey rink, evenly lit by strong strip lights on the ceiling. The ice rink is the only location in the whole video, and it is very interestingly laid out. It is a very simple set, featuring the band on one end of it, with a very large solid glossy red screen above and behind them throughout the video. Also, opposite the band on the other side of the set is stood what appears to be a riot police officer standing behind a black line on the floor. Due to the set’s simplicity and general emptiness, we are made to wonder what the massive red screen is doing there, and if it has a purpose. As the video progresses, other similar officers who again stand in line along the black line on the floor facing the band, looking intimidating, join the single police officer. The video seems to build up to a bridge just before their last chorus, where there is a very quiet and light music part, and the officers then start running and charge at the band in slow motion, and just as they get closer, the massive screen behind the band suddenly erupts a red water-like liquid jets shoot past and through the band and appears to overwhelm and throw the officers off guard. This of course coincides exactly as the band plays their last chorus, this time louder and angrier than before. It is clear that the guards were defeated as the song ends, and the front man slams his guitar on the floor and falls to his knees to what I assume is to represent the exhaustion after the battle. The video is composed of mainly pans, zooms and tracking shots, and close ups of the front man since he is the best-known member of the band (having belonged to Nirvana). The fact that the director isolated them in an empty ice rink makes the political lyrics stand out, as the singer shouts “What if I say I will never surrender”
Rhinana Jay Z and Kanye West - Run this town

The video was directed by Anthony Mandler. It involves people in masks, holding torches whilst walking. Rihanna takes a bandana from covering her mouth and starts to sing in a park while explosions are going off around her. Then Jay-Z sings his verse whilst in a temple-like area. At one point the trio are on a stage-like platform with the mob surrounding them. Kanye West sings in a cave-like area holding a torch and having a bandana cover his face like Jay-Z and Rihanna.
Arctic monkeys - The view from the afternoon

The video is based around a young male in a parka jacket playing the drum part of the song in the middle of a courtyard between blocks of high rise flats. Then, there is a sequence of surreal elements; an Indian schoolgirl walks past wearing plastic devil horns; a running fox; three men trying to attract the attention of the drummer who ignores them; the drummer is fed orange juice by the schoolgirl and then a brief shot in colour of him washing himself in shallow water. The music stops and it is revealed that his drumming has led his hands to bleed. Then, a shot of man in the dark wielding a baseball bat; a brief shot of the moon which then appears to explode; an older man struggling to lift a dumbbell. Finally the man with the bat comes near to the drummer and is about to strike him but the audio stops and we see a last shot of the male being showered in what could be rain or the fragments of the moon. The video is based on the story of Buddha. He was said to have meditated under a tree for days. While he meditated, devils came to seduce and sabotage him but he resisted. Seeing Buddha starve himself in order to attain nirvana, a lady gave him milk to quench the thirst. The video is shot in black and white and was filmed near Park Hill flats in the Arctic Monkeys' home city Sheffield, directed by W.I.Z.
Looking at The Beatles DVD cover it gives off exactly the right impression and the images you would associate with the band. The colourfulness is largely associated with the band, customers and fans could instantly recognise this. The logo of The Beatles is advertised on the front and advertises this huge band. The back of this cover is almost the opposite to the front it is very dark and shows all the songs that feature in this DVD. It includes an interesting image of the band drinking coffee, a very mundane activity for such a controversial band. Within the spine it includes the DVD sign and again The Beatles Logo and the dvd’s name also four images of each band member. The Repetition of the band logo and the colourfulness to represent the band is highly effective in this and I hope that we will be able to use such affects with in our own DVD cover.
This DVD front cover is simple and the main element is the image of the artist. As we see a striking pose for this artist in a live performance we see the emotion he puts in to each performance. Other than that the cover is extremely simple and uses three colours, purple, red and white, it features his name and the name of the album. The back of the DVD again includes a image of Richard Marx performing showing how much of a ‘true’ perfomer he is. It also includes his name again following the same colour conventions, and shows the 10 songs the DVD features. The other two images shown are other DVDs that the artist offers, which would be a good idea to include in our own DVD cover.

Katie's Summer Homework!
Jonas Akerlund a Swedish film and music video director was born in Sweden on the 10th of November in 1965. He was in a Swedish music band called Bathory which played black metal music. Jonas began his career when he first became a music video director for a Swedish pop band called Roxette. From there he worked alongside of Madonna and director the music video for her song “Ray of Light”. Since then he has worked with a number of other artists and bands such as; Lady Gaga, Blink- 182, U2, Christina Aguilera and Pink. Jonas is known most for his music videos in which have been know as being stylish, and he has director videos such as “Paparazzi, Wake up Call, Jump, Hot ‘n’ Fun and Telephone which features Beyonce. Not only has Jonas director music videos but he has been know for directing adverts for Swedish clothing retailers, designing and taken he photographs for the album Room Services by the band Roxette.
Music DVD Covers:
B.o.B Airplanes Feat Hayley Williams of Paramore
The front cover for BOB airplanes which feats Hayley Williams of Paramore, is quite basic a simple, with very little colour, and one picture. However this is quite effective and helps to draw in the viewers as the picture represent and reflects BOB song which is called Airplane. Using a close up shot of an airplane, with BOB looking out the window helps to show and let the viewers know which artist the album is from which song they sing. By choosing this as their front cover it allows viewers to have a visual image and be able to hear the artist song in their head. The picture forms the background Cd cover, making it quite simple but effective as if BOB is really in a airplane and is looking out.
There are only two colours used for the front on the front cover, these are red and black. The red writing shows the artists of the single and music video, while the black writing shows the name of the single and music video. As the main artist is BOB is name is written in big bold chunky letters written in red along the middle of the page. Underneath this is the name of the music video and single which is Airplanes, this is written in the same type of writing but in grey. Writing in red below that is artist that feat BOB, Haley Williams. The writing from top to bottom starts of big getting smaller.
I would say that target audience for this music video is teegnaers who like this type of music, also people who like romance soppy songs that have a meaning and people can relate to.
The front cover of Katy Perry Album for California girls, is very colour and bright which gives of a loud message about the video and the song. On the front is a picture of Katy Perry which is a medium close up picture of her sitting slightly sideways. The background of the cover is different coloured stripped lines which add effective and helps to give of a 3d effect to the cover. As the picture looks like it has been stuck on sideways to the background. The text writing on cover is written in a number of different fronts. Katy Perry is written in a red colour along the top right hand side of the page, by the way the text has been layed on to the picture it looks as if it’s coming out of Katy’s mouth as if she is saying it. At the bottom in the middle of the colour is a 3d block written which says the name of the song written in pink, blue and yellow. Then next to that is blue font which looks like hand writing saying the rest of the song name.
I would say the target audience for this music CD Cover is teenage to early 20s both males and females. However I feel it is mostly attracted to males by the way edits, mise en scence and the camera angles.
The front cover of Usher’s single OMG which features Will.i.am is quite plain and simple however rather effective.
There are no bright colours on the CD cover instead it using two basic colours which are black and white. By shading the fillings of these colours in the text and picture it helps to add a 3d effect to the words and the picture to make it look like it is popping out the CD cover. This is also reinforced by the lays that have been used on the magazine and the contrast colours. As the back ground of the CD cover is white with black writing on it, and then the picture is laid on top which is quite dark with white writing written over the top.
The picture on the front of the CD cover is of Usher himself this is also in black and white. The picture shows a medium close up of Usher who twisted slightly looking forward. By having this image on the front cover helps to give the CD attitude and style in order to help encourage and attract Usher target audience to his music and his Single.
I would say that the target audiences for this music CD Cover is young teenagers towards late 20s who are interested in pop and rap music. I would say that the major of the target audiences would be women as Usher songs are about relationships and love however I feel that it is target towards both. By his CD cover he leaves his target audience open to both males and females as I feel that it is not directed towards any gender in particular.
Lady GAGA- The Fame
The front cover of Lady GAGA album The Fame has a picture on of Lady GAGA herself which makes a bold statement to target audience. The picture portraits Lady GAGA split personality through the use of the sun glass and arm covering one side of her face compared to the other side of her face. One side of her face shows her as a normally person where as the other side of her face shows crazy imaginative side which normally portrayed through her dress style and music videos. By having this picture on the front cover of her CD cover it helps to attract her target audience in to buying her CD, as it shows her music on the album is wacky and upbeat but also quite personal and toned down. I would say that the target audience for this music CD cover is anyone who is a fan of Lady GAGA, ages from teenagers to people in their early 30s.
Unlike most CD covers which display the name of the artist or band and the name of the album underneath one another. Lady GAGA name is written in bold along the bottom of the CD and the name of the album is writing in the corner of the sunglasses she is wearing. This helps to add effect to the CD cover as it tells the consumer what the name of the CD is called but it’s not in their face.
Music DVD Adverts:
Usher’s DVD advert helps to reflect his images and style along with the type of music that he sings. The colour schemes which are used with this advert are red’s and black which represent his lyrics and music which are about love and romance. By choosing these colours it helps to attract Usher’s target audience as the colour help to draw their attention to his music. By using contrasting colours for the DVD advert it allows the advert to catch the target audience eye, but by using the different colours allows everything to stand out but in different ways. Such as the white for the text and the red and black for the pictures and background.
The DVD advert has a strong central image of Usher himself with his strong central image as although the image is not very colourful or fancy it stands out and reflects Usher as a person. The clothes that Usher and co-star are wearing link in with the mise - en scene of the advert and the colour that they have used as Usher is dressed in a black suit along with the man behind him where as the women to the right is dressed in red.
The DVD advert for California Girls by Katy Perry has the same back ground and image as her album cover, by using the same image this allows the audience to make links between the two in order for them to be more likely to remember her and want to buy her CD and listen to her music. The colours used on this advert are bright and bubbly colours which help to reflect Katy Perry herself as an artist and allow the type of music she sings. The picture used on the advert is of Katy Perry sitting side wise with very little clothes on, which reflects her personality. As Katy Perry attracts a range of different target audience from young children to young adults the choice in different stripped colours for the background helps to draw their attention to the advert and to her Music DVD. The advert is made up of the different colours which is Katy Motif as all of her Music Videos, DVDs and Albums are all colourful and in the audience face. The colour scheme for this advert is made up of the colours yellow, red, pink, green, purple and blue. The advert has a 3d effect to it which helps to make it stand out; this is done by the bold central image of Katy being rotated slightly to make it on an angle.
Arctic Monkeys:
The main picture which is used for the back ground is a sketching of the four members of the band, this choice of image effect helps to reflect the band as people and also their genre of music. By using this effect it helps to make the band look rough and ready to go, which relates to the indie/ rock music that they sing. The headline of this DVD advert by the Arctic Monkey’s is writing in bold white writing underneath the main picture centred at the bottom of the page. For this advert the headline is not big and bold in the middle of the advert so that it is the first thing the reader sees instead it is there to reinforce the picture of the band and their name. The colour scheme for this DVD advert contains five different colour these colours are black, white, green blue and cream. The colours blue, green and cream are used to help making up the pictures of the band by using these colours in the way they have done help to show the band crazy wild side which is reflected within their music. There are to strap lines on this DVD advert one is along the top of the advert and the second is writing in wrapped text in the bottom right hand corner.
Viva Forever-Spice Girls
This music video is different to most of the other videos, instead of band or artist music video that contains them in it or the artists/ band dancing in it, the Spice Girls music shows them as being cartoon characters. The video helps to show the journey in which this band has been through, from the being which is represented thought the opening of the book and then the characters coming out of the end. The target audience for the spice girls are young teenager girls who like pop music. Within the music videos and songs the Spice Girls target their audience by structuring their music videos as a story using different characters and motifs within which catch the attention of the audience. For example in this music video there spice girls appear in this video not as themselves as people but as fairies or pixies, which help to attract there young target audience who are girls between the ages of 6 to 12 years old.
Tik Tok –
The video Tik Tok as it uses a range of different shots in order to make the story, to go along with the crazy story line which is quite funky and crazy. As the song is quite upbeat and fast the music video is made up of jump cuts and fast edits in order to fast back and forth to tell the story. The uses of medium closes up through out the video allow the watcher to see the rebellious side of the character in the video and get an insight into the narrative of the story. I think the video is aimed at a target audience of teenagers in which they can relate to the video and the music, when it takes about parties and staying up all night. Showing a rebellious side to them and highlight the kind of things that teenagers do these days.
Plan B- She Said:
This music video She Said by Plan B has a story behind it which links along to the lyrics of the song, giving the video a narrative. The plot is used of the story is pictured in flashes back, using a range of different jumps from the past to the present helping to express the music. The music is very catchy in this song and with the help of the video it helps the viewer to remember the song along with the images that are shown. At the being of the song and through certain the parts the song is quite serious shown through the paces of the music and the facial expresses of the character in the video, however it can be quite cheesy and fun when it comes to the chores. The characters on the screen help to bring the music to life on the screen, for example when all the juror are clicking their fingers from left to right sound of the music goes along with these actions. Throughout the course of the music video and narrative the camera angles change from high angle shot to low angle in order to set the scene of the narrative such as the court and everyone in it in order to make it look relates. The use of close ups and medium shots help to express body langue and facial expressions in order to get insight into the story with the help of the music and lyrics. In order to show the passing of time to the future of the narrative the music video contains a number of different jump cuts to different scenes from the court room such as to the police station in order to suggest flashbacks. The structure of the music video is all narrative and concept based as it is based around the lyrics and the narrative that goes with it. The target audiences for Plan B music and this music video I feel are younger teens up to young adults who are from both genders who like gritty R&B music. The target audience are targeted by the gritty in-depth lyrics and music he sings which relate to issues with in real life and long with the narratives of the music videos.
